Why Fare-Free?

Many countries subsidize fossil-fuel prices. This is a mistake. Instead we should let those prices gradually rise and use that same money to make public transport free. That would reduce the waste of the private auto system and the economy would benefit from not having to pay all the costs of supporting such a system. This blog will provide links that argue this point and other links to people who are organizing to remove fares from urban buses and streetcars.
